Devo’s Postmodern Album Promo Hits All the Right Notes
“Is it even advertising? Who the hell knows? But it is so cool and funny and wicked and surprising and surprisingly restrained and postmodern in the best sense. In short: so Devo.”

Fan Death’s video for “Reunited”
Late Of The Pier’s video for “Best In The Class”
Die Antwoord’s video for “Enter The Ninja”
Interesting interpretation from Three Billion blog:
“Walking a cloudy line between music, comedic spoof and art, Die Antwoord are like an Africaan Rap-Rave version of Goldie Looking Chain. The thing that stands them apart from the crowd is that they are pushing out super-slick content which just bends your mind. You can find their website here.
The thing that’s bugging me is that the videos are just a little too good, the website has been made by well paid professionals and their online dispersion strategy feels like there is, well, a strategy. Above all, the more you dig around, the more PUMA’s name keeps on popping up.
Now, if PUMA have just jumped on-board as a supporter, then great work. However if it’s an elaborate pre-World Cup marketing campaign, then I bow down and worship at their feet. It’s pure gold.”

Ryan McGinley shoots Tilda Swinton in Pringle of Scotland’s new campaign
I love this.
“Shot during the making of the Pringle S/S 2010 Advertising campaign, the Tilda Swinton film by Ryan McGinley follows the new face of Pringle since last summer modelling the luxury brand’s womenswear.
Breathlessly travlling through the wildlife of Scotland, a dark forest framed by a bleak sky and rustling meadows, the Scottish filmmaker and photographer McGinley shoots a quiet and moving short film, highlighting Scottish heritage moving between the open moors to the dark caves and cobbled ruins surrounding the ethereal beauty of the androgynous Academy Award winning actress Swinton. McGinley artistic direction portrays Pringle’s loyalty to its Scottish roots as a brand and quirky creativity in its new collection on the most fitting of subjects.
The short film explores iconic elements of the Scottish terrain whilst delivering beautiful images of the clothes themselves on the captivating and bewitching actress.”
